In this series, photographs of Mar-a-Lago, taken from the Historic American Buildings Survey that are archived at the Library of Congress, have been adjusted to reflect the fractious internal politics of the Trump era. When the People’s house is literally defecated upon by those who would Make America Great Again, what does it mean to bring the war ‘home’? These images reflect the changes that have occurred in media and national politics since Martha Rosler created her important House Beautiful: Bringing the War Home series during the Vietnam War era.
